FIRST SNOW IN BLUE AND WHITE

Hello dear friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you a First Snow Blue and White model of card that I made using what I consider to be the three essential elements when creating a card: Stamps, Die Cut and embossing. Take a look at my card:

During these days for a lot of us the time is too short to make all that we need to do. And Christmas cards are always in our list so with this idea you can create many cards in short time. This model is very simple and easy. Let me tell you how to make this:
  1. Cut the base of the card using Whisper White card stock. The size is 5-1/2"x8-1/2' with score in 4-1/4"
  2. Take a snowflake border stamp and stamp it on the upper part using Versafine Deep Lagoon. I used one of the borders of the stamp set Christmas Borders from Joy Clair Stamps.
  3. Create a dry embossing over your card using the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.
  4. Sponge the lover border to create the mountain sensation. I used two different colors of distress ink Broken China and Mermaid Lagoon.
  5. Decorate the top with a few loops of blue and white baker's twine.
  6. Cut the die cut First Snow from DieVersions using Whisper White and Tempting Turquoise card stock and paste these a little moved to create dimension.
  7. Paste the die cut piece over the decorated card base.

If you want you can change the colors or die cuts. For Christmas season Die-Versions has an amazing collection and you can find all these die cuts HERE. And we'd love to see your projects using Die-Versions dies on our Facebook page HERE. If you use the code martha15 you'll receive 15% off your regular price Die-Versions order.

Reindeer in the Woods

Anne here with another Christmas card idea.  The one I have to share with you today features the Reindeer die from Die-Versions and a layering stamp set by Hero Arts.

I started out by stamping the trees in different colors of green to see which combination I liked the best.  I ended up using Memento Ink (Cottage Ivy, Bamboo Leaves) and Brilliance (Pearlescent Ivy).  The top layer for the trees was stamped with VersaMark and heat set with White Spark embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle.  The background of falling snow was also stamped using one of the stamps from the Hero Arts set.

The snowy banks were hand cut (although the trees ended up covering up most of the banks) and then heat embossed with Sparkle embossing powder.  I added Nuvo Glitter Drops (White Blizzard) for more definition of the banks.

The reindeer was die cut from white cardstock.  I colored his hoofs with a Copic marker and then began adding flock to various the rest of the die cut.  His antlers are covered with Buff flock, his tail with Snow White flock, and his body with Amber Wheat flock.  He is so soft to touch.  Unfortunately the reindeer is temporarily out of stock.

I cut out some gold shimmer paper with the Die-Versions Whispers Angel Ornament and attached that to the card.  Next I stamped the sentiment from the Joy Clair Three Wise Men stamp set with Versamark and heat embossed with Gold embossing powder.  I inked the edges of the Kraft card stock with gold ink too. WHITE CHRISTMAS HAPPY HOLIDAY

Hello everyone, Martha Lucia here to share with you a White Christmas Happy Holiday Card that I made using one of the Holiday Icon Ornaments from DieVersions and the Stitched Nesting Squares. The Holiday Icon Ornaments is is a great collection of six ornaments that you can use to create your cards, tags or decorations. Take a look at my card:

Creating this card was very simple:
  1. Cut the base using Whisper White card stock. The size is 4-1/4"x11" with score in 5-1/2".
  2. Cut a second layer using Whisper White card stock. The size is 5-3/8"x4-1/8".
  3. Make dry embossing over the second layer using the Softly Falling Embossing Folder by Stampin Up.
  4. Paste the embossed layer over the card base.
  5. Using piece of marina mist card stock cut the large Stitched Nesting Squares.
  6. With the next small size of the Stitched Nesting Squares you can cut the decorated paper to paste inside.
  7. Using Whisper White card stock, cut your favorite Holiday Icon Ornament.
  8. Paste a blue circle behind of the ornament.
  9. Assemble all the layers of the die cuts and paste over the card base using dimensionals.
  10. Finalize the decoration adding the stamped message and bow.

Merry Christmas!

Ingredients:

Versamark
Gold ink
Red & White Bakers Twine
Various paper from my stash

For this A2 card I started with Kraft card stock for the base of the card.  I took a piece of patterned paper, distressed the edges and then added it to the card.  I cut out the Die-Versions Whispers Deer Ornament die and cut it out with Kraft paper and then I stamped it with Versamark and then heat embossed it with the Sparkle N Sprinkle Gold Detail embossing powder and then added that to the card.  I took the Merry Christmas stamp and stamped that with Versamark onto some more Kraft paper, heat embossed that with the same gold embossing powder, cut the ends to make the banner and then inked the edges with Gold ink.  Lastly I took some Red  & White Bakers Twine and wrapped that around the card a couple of times and then tied it in a knot.

Double Embossed Christmas Card

Welcome to the Universally Crafty Die-Versions Blog! Karen Hasheck here again and today I am sharing a Christmas card I created with the beautiful Madonna Ornament die from Die-Versions and a favorite background technique. For more information on the double embossed technique and a link to the original tutorial, please visit my blog here.

For this card, I did the Staz-On streaks with Azure and Black Staz-on on aluminum foil. I embossed with a Spellbinders embossing folder and dumped on blue, silver and gold embossing powders and melted it with my heat gun. Then I sponged on black archival ink. After layering the completed piece onto a navy card base, I die cut the Madonna Ornament out of white, layered it on a navy blue circle and attached it. On the inside I added the gorgeous Christmas Greetings Die-Versions die as shown here:

Remember you can get a 15% discount on any of Die-Version’s great dies by simply using my discount code karen15 when you check out at the Die-Versions website (unless the dies are already on sale.)

Steampunk pocket letter with Die Versions

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my second November Die Versions post.
This time I decided to share a pretty big project : Steampunk Pocket letter.
Pocket letters are very trendy and these are actually 9 ATC cards made with the same theme and arranged in kids baseball*football plastic pocket (the one kids keep their sport cards they collect).
So I used Papericious Vintage paper line and made all 9 cards with the same paper line and added a lot of Die Versions dies over most of the card.
I used Let's celebrate today old die as the central one and I made the whole piece as a Steampunk celebration.

Retro dancers were  added on two cards near the central Celebration piece. Another cards were made in a Steampunk inspiration using both Bricks background and Gears dies.

And some more card from this 9 cards set: on this one I used Die Versions Stitched Stars set of die and made 2 layered star and one smaller star nere.

And here are all 9 cards as they should be shown- out of plastic pocket for the camera limitations.

Products used:
 Let's celebrate today circle die

Warm Your Heart

Anne here with a Christmas card for you.  This Christmas card combines the Die-Versions Holiday Tag die with a Stampabilities rubber stamp.  For some reason, this die reminds me of those thick winter sweaters.

So, going with that idea in mind, I decided to create a plaid look using Copic markers.  I started out by die cutting the tag out of white cardstock.  Then I chose a couple Copic markers and a Copic multiliner and just winged it.  It was really easy to create this.  I used a piece of graph paper and a ruler.  (The graph paper helped me keep my ruler straight.  I'm one of those that can draw a crooked line using a ruler :-O.)

The sentiment is an older rubber stamp from Stampabilities called Warm Your Heart.  After stamping the message with black Versa Fine, I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

I also used a couple of the negative pieces from the die cut - the large snowflake and the two smaller ones located below the large one.  Before adhering them back into the main die cut, I added Nuvo Glitter Drops (White Blizzard) to them for for added sparkle.

My die cut was adhered to red mirror cardstock that already had some texture.  This was then added to a piece of pre-glittered cardstock.  A small plaid ribbon was the finishing touch.

The violin-playing image is a Sweet Petite Musical Boy die, and he's using a Sweet Petite Music Stand die. He's standing in front of a Whispers Nesting Flowers. A Whispers Nesting Flowers die was also used for the sentiment.

For this card, the image is a Sweet Petite Musical Girl die, using a Sweet Petite Music Stand die. She's also standing in front of a Whispers Nesting Flowers die.

Two cards by Alicja

Hi crafty souls!
Alicja here with some inspiration for you today.
I made two cards- one of them is a Christmas themed card and the second one is a card for my Sister, for her birthday.
As you know I basically made sqare cards. I think it is easier to make many compositions.
Each layer I disstresed with scissors and used 3d tape to stick together. For christmas cards I like using gauze and brocade paper to cut Skate around die:

 Whispers - Skate Around
Whispers - Stitched Nesting Squares
Second card is a birthday card:
I decided to use only half die cut:
I added a flower and stamped feathers:
Whispers - Iron GatesWhispers - Dreamcatcher
Please, invite our Die-Versions Blog to check out projects created by design team and share with us what you created with yours
Die-Versions dies on the Die-Versions Facebook Page.  Remember to use my discount code alicja15 always in our DieVersion Store to get 15% off in your order.

Making cards with Die Versions

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new blog post.
I made a couple of cards as my first November inspiration. The first card is a Christmas one and I used two die as a background and as one of the images on the front of this card.
I used Morocco  DV background  over patterned paper and then added another die cut piece using Die Versions Pine Cone Arrangement  die that is not in stock right now, but is one of my favorites for Christmas cards. I made the cut from patterned paper and them made red bow inlay with another die cut. The whole piece is painted with Art Anthology paints and I added embellishments cluster over it.

Die Versions dies used:

Whispers - Morocco Background

And the second card made in the same style: one big background die on the background and one die cut on the front as a focal image.

I hope you liked my new cards and my use of DV dies one them.
