Happy Birthday to the USA!!

Hello Die-Versions Fans,

Lori here today and I want to share this birthday card with you!  It could be Happy Birthday to the USA with the Red, White & Blue colors, but it could also be used for any July Birthday!  For this card I used the Whispers Birthday Circle die and I cut it out twice, once in blue star paper and once in red star paper and I pieced it together and placed it on top of the red, white and blue balloon paper.  I inked the edges of the balloon paper with Faded Jeans distress ink and I added it to the base of the card which I used white card stock for.

Here is a close up of the Birthday Circle:

Just Believe

Hello!  Kara here today to showcase from the Whispers collection .. Dragonfly

I started out by die cutting the Dragonfly in gold foil paper.  It is a very thick paper and the die has some intricate cuts so I placed a piece of cardstock folded under my plate for some extra thickness.  It cut perfectly the first time.  I just received my Vagabond 2, so I wasn't sure how thick I would need.

My card is 4 x 5.5 in size and I played with my gelatos for this card... Ok, well my purple gelato!  I used watercolor paper and gesso to place a layer over the paper (let this dry).  I then scribbled some gelato and with my spray bottle spritzed and moved the gelato until I was happy with it.  I wanted this card to be simple .. but let me tell you.. it looks stunning in person.

I wanted the dragonfly to really be raised, so I placed two layers of adhesive foam .. it was so high that you could see the foam.  I took out  a gold marker and colored it so it would blend in. You can leave the wings as is or I bent them slightly giving them some curve.

I then stamped my sentiment and embossed in gold.  Placed the dragon fly on the card and added a few rhinestone embellishments for the final touch.

Celebrate Love

Happy Monday!! Lisa here to share a couple of cards with you using several Die-Versions dies.

I actually made these cards a few months months ago but haven't had a chance to post them yet.

I started by stitching the bottom layer to the heavyweight white cardstock. A Whispers Loopy Lace die (not currently in stock) was tucked under the first torn layer, along with flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. The butterfly is a Whispers Pretty Wings die it was cut three times for dimension. The sentiment is a Celebrate Sweet Wordlet die.

The doily is a Whispers Ring of Hearts die. The button on the ribbon is a Wee Petites Button die (not currently in stock). The sentiment is a Compliments Everyday Love die. I cut it twice for a shadow effect.

You can see all of the dies from the Newest Release HERE. And we'd love to see your projects using Die-Versions dies on our Facebook page HERE. If you use the code lisa15 you'll receive 15% off your regular price Die-Versions order.

Thanks so much for stopping by and come back tomorrow for more inspiration from the design team!! Have a great day :)

Hello

Anne here with today's post.  My card features a couple older Die-Versions dies and lots of embossing powders.  I die cut the Feather die several times to create the background and the Hello Express Edge was used to create the sentiment.  (Enabler alert: the Express Edge die is on the Farewell Sale list right now, so if you like it you need to get it before it's gone.)

To create the multi-colored feathers, I started out by covering the die cut with VersaMark and then I sprinkled on the various colors of embossing powders.  I did not heat set in between each color.  The embossing powders I used were all from Sparkle N Sprinkle (Black, Blueberry, Copper Mountain, Dust Storm).

Once the embossing powder was heat set and cooled, I then added some Rose Gold Velvet glitter to the top of the die cut.  I heat set this again from the bottom.  As you reheat the embossing powder, the glitter melts into the embossing powder.  This gives you a bolder strip of glitter versus using the glueless glitter technique, which has a more subtle glitter look.

For the Hello sentiment, I added a bit of bling using the Spectrum Noir Sparkle markers (Aquamarine) and then I covered it with Glossy Accents for a bolder, shiny look so that it would stand out a bit more.

Mixing and matching embossing powders is a fun and quick technique that will give you different results every time.  If you don't like how it came out, you can always sprinkle a little more embossing powder over the top and re-heat it.

Just a Note with Sparkling Guitar

Hello everyone, Martha Lucia here to share with you a card that I made using the Whispers die cut Sparkling Guitar. Take a look of my card:

I love to create Clear and Simple cards and this is one of this models.
1. Cut the base of the card using Real Red card stock. The size is 4-1/4"x11" with score in 5-1/2".
2. Cut a whisper white layer. The size is 4"x5-1/4"
3. With an stencil create different circles patterns using different colors of inks. In my model I used the stencil Cup Cake and Sparkle form Stencil Girl and the colors Real Real, Hello Honey and Midnight Muse Classic Ink.
4. Cut the die cut Sparkling Guitar using Night of Navy Card stock and paste this over the decorated layer using double sided foam tape or zapdots.
5. Stamp the sentiment Just a Note using Midnight Muse Classic Ink.
6. Paste the decorated layer over the card base.
7. Add some red and yellow crystal drops to finalize the decoration and let it dry.

This is easy to make and you can use different patters of the stencil to create a different look.

Good Fortune

Anne here and my card today features three Die-Versions dies: Oriental DragonOriental Screen, and Fortune Cookie font.

To start out, the Dragon was die cut from white cardstock and then colored with Copic markers.  Sometimes, if I want ideas on how to color a specific image, I use Google Images to see what sparks my imagination.  (I especially use this when trying to color birds.)

Next, I used the glueless glitter technique and Clear embossing powder to add glitter (PK Glitz- Chinese Firecracker) to the Oriental Screen.  (I've had this glitter for quite some time, so I'm not sure if it's still available but I'm sure there are some great substitutes for it.)

For my sentiment, I die cut my letters from the Fortune Cookie font twice so that I could create a shadow effect.

A bit of twine and a lucky charm are the finishing touches for this card.

Don't forget to use the code anne15 to get 15% off your total purchase of Die-Version dies (based on the every day sales price).

Stenciled CAS Hugs Card

Welcome to the Universally Crafty Die-Versions Blog! Karen here again and today I am sharing a CAS  (Clean and Simple) Hugs card designed with Die-Versions dies. I die cut a stencil with Die-Versions Funky Octagon Background and sponged several shades of blue ink through it to create my background. Then I die cut a scalloped circle out of that background using the largest of the Nesting Flowers dies. I raised that “flower” on pop dots and attached it back in the hole that was created. I die cut and attached Die-Versions Curly Word Hugs and added some navy Nuvo Crystal Drops to complete the CAS card.

Baby Boy Bootie

Hello Die-Versions Fans,

Lori here today and I want to share with you a card I made using the new Whispers Baby Boy Bootie die.  Isn't it just adorable!  I cut it out with white paper and then I cut out the blue paper with the Whispers Stitched Nesting Squares die and then I attached that to a piece of dark blue Mulberry paper.  I took another piece of dark blue Mulberry paper and added that to the base of a white card and wet the edges and then frayed the edges.  I added the blue gingham strip after fishtailing the ends and then placed the bootie block in the center of the gingham banner.

Just sparkle !

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my second June post for Die Versions blog.
This time I am going to share a very sparkling card made over metal cardstock and with huge  Die Versions die cut made from the very same metal cardstock.
This pretty new  Hearts in Heart die is just perfect as a focal point of any love card. I matted it with patterned paper to make the die cut more visible. The inside small hearts (actually the die's leftovers) are just perfect as small embellishments all over the card.
I used Two Paper Divas " sparkling" sentiment that was just perfect for this perfect  DV die.

I hope that you like both of my cards and see you again soon with more Die Versions inspiration.
I hope I have inspired you to create something fun today!  Please be sure to check back to the DV Blog often for more great ideas on how to use your dies!  And please share with us what you make on the DV Facebook Page.

Hello!  Kara here today to showcase the Graduation Cameo

What a fabulous Summer release!   I used the Graduation Cameo die today.  You receive two dies in this set a woman and a man.  I needed a female card so it worked perfect.

The card is  5 x 6.5 inch base.  I layered white and black and added foam tape to the die cut for some dimension.  Adding some perler beads for embellishments that I had melted added the finishing touch.

Love Card for my Husband

Welcome to the Universally Crafty Die-Versions Blog! Karen here again and today I am sharing a romantic card I created with Die-Version’s dies. I die cut the Oriental Screen die twice in a light and dark green and offset them slightly when attaching to a white A2 card base. I noticed that some of the pieces that fall out of the die cut background were the capital letter I, so I decided to say I Love You on my card. I used the dancing couple from Die-Version’s Trellis die for the love part. This card is for my husband and we love to dance together.

Hot Air Balloon Birthday Greetings

Hello Crafty Friends,

Mary here today with a simple birthday shaker card using the Whispers Hot Air Balloon Birthday die.

I die cut my balloon from white card stock and colored it w/Copic markers.  To make the shaker balloon section, I used the die, to die cut a white craft foam piece... this gave me the dimension and sections I needed for the different color tiny sequin stars. I backed the shaker w/a small scale pattern paper and then attached the whole balloon element to a card front that I had already covered with a sky pattern paper.  I added a few stars and my card was done.

Thanks for stopping bye today, leave me some feedback or links to your projects using some of our great dies.

Stars around us

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my very shiny and glittered Die Versions post!
Today I am going to show you stars and a lot of them.
I love those Die Versions Stitched Nesting shapes a lot, but the Stitched Nesting Stars are my most favorite ones and now you can see two of my recent cards made with those dies.
Both card were made with glitter chipboard base and I die cut the stars from the very same  glitter  chipboards. Yes, those stars are made from thin chipboard and the die cutting was fantastic and easy.
To the first card I added a sentiment from Two Paper Divas and it was just a perfect fit to my stars and glitter.

The second card stars were arranged in a different way and the Inspired by Stamping totally different sentiment was stamped over the white cardstock.
For this card I used the negative from my die cutting too and added one smaller single star near the sentiment.

I hope that you like both of my cards and see you again soon with more Die Versions inspiration.
I hope I have inspired you to create something fun today!  Please be sure to check back to the DV Blog often for more great ideas on how to use your dies!  And please share with us what you make on the DV Facebook Page.
