Make A Wish

(Click on the photo to enlarge)

There are so many things you can create with the new Stitched Nesting Stars dies.  As I usually do when I get a new die, I cut the shapes out from scraps of cardstock to get a better feel for what I want to create with them.  As I was tossing these around my desk, they sort of overlapped and it sparked an idea of creating a star-filled night sky.

A few years ago, I had seen a demo of painting with embossing powders and it stuck with me.  That's what I decided I wanted to try for this project.  It's definitely a trial and error type of technique - you just keep adding embossing powders and playing with it until you're happy with the results.  For this background, I used Ranger embossing powders (Turquoise and Blue Glass).

I started out by covering the cardstock with the lighter Turquoise embossing powder.  Then I began sprinkling the Blue Glass on top and heating it from underneath so that the powder wouldn't blow away.  I kept adding a little of one and then the other until I thought it looked like a night sky.

I also used a different medium on each of the stars for various sparkle.  The largest star was heat embossed using Stampendous Star Dust embossing powder.  The medium solid star was heat embossed with Clear embossing powder and the small solid star was heat embossed with Opaline embossing powder.  Spectrum Noir Sparkle markers added the additional bling to the open star.

My sentiment is a Sweet Wordlet and was also covered with the Sparkle markers.  The black card base represents deep, deep space and Nuvo Glitter Drops by Tonic Studios (Midnight Sky) give it the added shimmer and sparkle. :-)

Bunny Hugs Card

Welcome to the Universally Crafty Die-Versions Blog! Karen here again and today I am sharing a bunny hugs card featuring Die-Version’s new Whispers Bunny and Curly Word Hugs found here on the Die-Version’s New Release Page.  I started this CAS (clean and simple) card by die cutting the Curly Word Hugs out of a white scrap and also out of the blue checked card front. I replaced all the pieces back in the blue checked piece (using a technique called inlaid die-cutting.) I die cut the cute bunny and decided to keep the pieces in the bunny. I attached him to the card with pop dots to raise.

Remember you can get a 15% discount on any of Die-Version’s great dies by simply using my discount code karen15 when you check out at the Die-Versions website (unless the dies are already on sale.)

Thanks for visiting the Die-Versions blog. I hope our projects inspire you to try some of the many great Die-Versions dies available at the website.

Happy Birthday Heart Shaker Card

Happy Tuesday!! Lisa here to share a couple of cards with you using several Die-Versions dies.

When I first saw the Whispers Hearts in Heart die, I thought it would make a beautiful shaker element on a card, so I turned it into one using chunky iridescent glitter. I added a smaller Wee Petites Heart Doodle covered in glitter to the top.

A Whispers Ring of Hearts die and a Whispers Stitched Nesting Circles die were added behind the heart, as was a Whispers Heart Border die.

A Sweet Wordlet Happy and Sweet Wordlet Birthday die was used for this sentiment for this card.

A Sweet Wordlet Happy and Sweet Worldet Mother's Day was used for this one.

You can see all of the dies from the Newest Release HERE. And we'd love to see your projects using Die-Versions dies on our Facebook page HERE. If you use the code lisa15 you'll receive 15% off your regular price Die-Versions order.

Bunny Love

Anne here with today's card which features two of the new dies from the most recent releaseBunny and Curly Fries font.

To create this anniversary card, I die cut the bunny on the left from double sided adhesive and used the Kiss Cut technique, a technique where you cut through the top layer but not the base layer for this bunny.  I carefully removed the negative pieces and added Toffee Flower Soft to the exposed adhesive areas.  Polar White Flower Soft was added to his tail, a little Pink Spirit flock was applied to his nose, and then Nut Brown Flower Soft was added to the rest of his body.

The bunny on the right was run through my Xyron machine.  Elephant Grey flock was added to the body, Pink Spirit flock to the nose, and Polar White Flower Soft to the tail.   I wanted both of their tails to be more dimensional (like the big cotton tailed bunnies we have around here), so I applied some Dimensional Glue and added a lot more Polar White Flower Soft.

The background was created using watercolor paper and Color Bursts (Ultramarie Blue, Violet, Pthalo Green, and Terre Verte).  The letters for my sentiment were die cut from the Curly Fries font, which also coordinates with the new Curly Words that were introduced during this release.

Swan

Hello Die-Versions Fans,

Today I am sharing with you a card I made with the new Whispers Swan die and the new Curly Words Cheers die.  For this 5 inch by 7 inch card I started with royal blue card stock for the base of the card.  Next I added some blue marble paper for the sky, then I took a piece of distress paper and colored it with my gelatos and attached that to the card.  I cut out the Whispers Swan die twice in white paper, I colored the beak with Copic marker honey and black marker and attached them to the card to look like the swan and her reflection on the pond.  I took some of the same royal blue card stock and cut out the Curly Words Cheers die and added that to the bottom of the card.

I hope I have inspired you to create something beautiful today!

Flamingos

Hello craft friends,

Do you have a favorite animal?  I love penguins, owls and cats.  I can honestly say, flamingos were never on my list.  Until I recently got the Flamingo Whispers die. Now, I can't stop thinking about flamingos... LOL.  I'm in love with this little pink bird.  Here are two cards I made for this post.

What little or big girl wouldn't love getting a birthday card that has a backgound of pink Big Balloon die cuts under a vellum layer with one beautiful pink Flamingo die cut and a small, but noticeable Happy  Birthday die cut sentiment.

On my second card I die cut my flamingo from white glitter paper and paired it with pink palm tree pattern paper and a pink tag.  Another girl of any age appropriate card.

I hope you have enjoyed your visit today, leave me some feedback or links to your projects using some of our great dies.

Everyone can enjoy the journey

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my second April post in Die Versions blog.
This time I decided to make a tag and not the usual one, bright, fancy or with flowers.
This is a tag that is inviting everyone- even spiders- to enjoy their own journey.
I used Tando stencil (so what if it's not quite Halloween yet? ) with mists and texture paste. Then I made die cuts from Die Versions Spider web and spiders and heat embossed the die cuts with black embossing powder.
I added them over the tag and added this totally " out of it's place" sentiment on the bottom (Two Paper Divas stamps).
Some arrows small chipboards were added to show the way to those spiders.
I hope you like my small art tag and adore DV dies as much as I do.

Rose for a Mother's Day

Hello everyone, Martha Lucia here to share with you a Mother's Day card inspiration. I love flowers and this new die cut called Rose comes to be part of our Whisper Collection.

Here is how I created this card:
1. Cut the card base using crumb cake card stock. The size is 4-1/4"x11". Make score in 5-1/2".
2. Cut a second layer using the same color of card stock. The size is 3-3/4" x 5".
3. Paint some parts of the second layer using Distress Stain Picket Fence.
4. Stamp on upper right corner the sentiment using VersaFine Onix and Clear Embossing Powder from Imagine Crafts. I used a sentiment from the set Mother's Day of Joy Clair Stamps.
5. Cut the Whisper Rose twice. The first time using Real Red card stock and the second using Old Olive card stock.
6. Separate the roses from the green die cut and paste this over the red die cut.
7. Paste the by color die cut over the painted base.
8. Turn some loops of gold baker's twine on the left side of the decorated layer and finalize with a bow.
9. Paste the decorated layer using dimensionals over the card base

I love this color combination and this can be a perfect card for mother's day. Also the Whisper Rose is a perfect die cut for everything or what do you think? I cant't wait to see what you come up with this wonderful Rose

Colorful Cheers

Hi everyone, Martha Lucia here to celebrate with you. It's Saturday and today's card is very festive. I am using other die cut from our new collection, the Cheers from Curly Words.

Here is how I created this card:
1. Cut your Rose Red card base using card stock of 4-1/4"x11". Make score in 5-1/2"
2. Cut a second layer using a Whisper White card stock of 4-1/8" x 5-3/8"
3. Take the stamp and ink it using Splendor Ink in Circus collection by Imagine Crafts. I used the Dotty Angles Stamp by Stampin Up.
4. Cover the ink with clear embossing powder and melt with the heat tool.
5. Paste the stamped layer over the card base and if you wish add some sequins.
6. Using fun foam cut the Curvy Word Cheers in your big shot.
7. Using Old Olive card stock, cut again the Curvy Word Cheers in your big shot. If you want you can pass an adhesive sheet behind the card stock before cutting.
8. Paste the die cut in card stock over the fun foam die cut.
9. Paste the Curvy Word Cheers with dimension over the card.

Very simple. What do you think? I cant't wait to see what you come up with this wonderful curvy word Cheers. My inspiration is a model Clean and Simple but maybe you have other amazing idea.

Hello Peacock

Hello dear friends, Martha Lucia here to share with you the new Whispers Peacock. As soon as I saw this die cut I knew that I had to create something in watercolor technique. Why? I don't know. It was just a creative feeling.

Here is how I created this card:
1. Cut your Hello Honey card base. The size is 4-1/4"x11" and make score in 5-1/2"
2. Take a piece of watercolor paper and spray it with water.
3. Using Distress Ink and aqua painter apply the ink randomly over the center of the paper. I used the colors Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry and Mustard Seed.
4. Let the colored piece dry and re-size it, before pasting it over the card base.
4. Take the die cut Whisper Peacock and cut it in your big shot using blue Metal Sheet.
5. Paste the Peacock over the watercolor decoration.
6. Stamp your sentiment over a piece of watercolor paper using VersaMark and Gold Embossing Powder. I used Mr. Wow's Wonderful Words from Wow Embossing Powders
7. With the aqua painter add some color to the embossed piece.
8. Paste the embossed piece to the decorated layer.
9. Add some gold and blue sequins.
10. Spray with Golden Orange Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels.

What do you think? I cant't wait to see what you come up with this wonderful Peacock. My inspiration was plenty of color but maybe you have other amazing idea.

Cheers!!

Happy Tuesday!! Lisa here to share a card with you using a couple of dies from the newest Die-Versions release.

I love the beautiful new Whispers Peacock die!! Those long, flowing feathers gave me the chance to try out Brushos. I sprinkled some Sea Green, Emerald Green, Cobalt Blue, Ultramarine and Turquoise Brushos on watercolor paper and spritzed it with water to get the swirl of colors.

I also added a touch so sparkle with a Wink of Stella pen, but it's hard to see in the picture.

The border along the top is a Whispers Loopy Lace die. A Whispers Daisy Flair die was used beneath the flowers. A Wee Petites Button die was used on the ribbon.

On the inside, I used the new Cheers Curly Word die.

You can see all of the dies from the Newest Release HERE. And we'd love to see your projects using Die-Versions dies on our Facebook page HERE. If you use the code lisa15 you'll receive 15% off your regular price Die-Versions order.

Quill Pen

Anne here with today's post.  The Feather die is a good size, almost 5 1/2" long.  When I saw it, I was reminded of how people used to write with feathers, called a quill pen.  (WAY before my time - but I've seen it in movies :-).)  That's how this card came about.

I have an old clear stamp of a post card (from OTC stamps) and an ink bottle (by Just For Fun stamps) and thought these would be perfect for my die.  After die cutting the feather from white cardstock, I colored the feathers portion with Pink Champagne Spectrum Noir Sparkle markers and "dipped" the end in Starry Sky Sparkle marker.  The ink bottle was heat embossed with Clear embossing powder and then colored with the Sparkle markers.  Parts of the post card were also colored with the Sparkle markers.

My message was created using DV Sweet Wordlets (Thinking of You, the "&" from Mr. & Mrs., and Miss You).  These were all colored with more Starry Sky Sparkle marker.  Writing back then was so elegant, so I could easily image someone who used a quill pen would also write beautifully.

Hi crafty friends!

I used  Flamingo and Seahorse dies from the new realease :

First of all I cut two pieces of scrapbooking papers which are the bases of the card.
Now I add one small piece in the middle. All of this parts are distressed by scizzors and vintage photo ink. This made it look older. I added some chipboards and finnaly dies shapes- Flamingo and Seahorse.
