Find if you are lucky!

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new post made for  Die Versions  blog.

I decided to combine  those two companies as I got those new released Western Vases Die and only thing that I could think about was to add some gold/ jewelry inside those  vases. And then then best sentiment I thought about was something about luck. Not St. Patrick 's day, but just pure luck when you dig for your own gold somewhere.

So I used Canvas Corps cardstocks to make the card and made black die cut with golden background.
Metal coins and pearls were glued into the vases and around and I stamped Two Paper Divas sentiment using  Lucky  me set.

I hope you like my new card and you love DV new dies!

Koi Pond

Hello Die-Versions Fans,

Today I am here with a card featuring the new Koi Fish die and the Oriental Screen die.

For this A2 card I started with a blue piece of card stock for the base of the card.  Next I cut out the Oriental Screen die in black paper and added that to the base of the card.  Then I cut out an oval with the water paper and added that to the card.  I cut out the Koi Fish die in white paper and I used my Orange Soda gelato and Metalic Icing gelato to color the fish and then I added it to the oval.  I just love this Koi Fish die.

Good Luck

The Chinese New Year begins Feb 8, so I'm here to wish you good luck in the upcoming Year of the Monkey.

Ginger Jar is one of the new dies released this month.  If you haven't seen all the new Asian themed dies, you'll want to check them out.

After die cutting the jar, I heat embossed it with Clear embossing powder.  I also wanted the jar to look solid, so I traced around the die itself and fussy cut it out.  Then I added more clear embossing powder to this. I wanted a cracked finish and started out to use the Cracked Glass technique but then I remembered I had an old jar of Distress Crackle Paint.  To be honest, I wasn't sure it would work on top of the embossing, but I added a very thick layer and let it air dry.  It worked beautifully, but don't over bend the die cut or some may flake off.

The right panel is watercolored using Nuance powders.  I was playing around with these powders and had some leftovers, so I combined them all onto watercolor paper (hoping I wouldn't get mud).  I liked the way it turned out and set it on my desk.  Much to my happy surprise, it matched the Ginger Jar (that was also sitting on my desk) perfectly.

The DV Fortune Cookie font was used to create my sentiment.  It was die cut twice: once from black cardstock (to create the shadow) and once from the same paper as the Ginger Jar was die cut from.  I also added some Spectrum Noir Sparkle glitter markers (clear) to the letters for a bit of bling.  If you haven't tried these new markers yet, I think you will really like them.  The sparkle they give is really amazing and you can blend colors with them too.  Embroidery floss and vintage buttons add the finishing touches to my card.

Dancing The Night Away

Welcome to the Universally Crafty Die-Versions Blog! Karen here again and today I am sharing a card featuring Die-Version’s beautiful Diamonds Background and the Sweet Petites Dancers. My husband and I love to dance together so this Dancers die cut makes me smile. Die-Version’s A2 sized background dies make card making so easy. You can choose to back them with different colors of cardstock or designer paper. On this card, I created a background with Cosmic Shimmer Gemstone Gilding Flakes on a sticky two sided tape paper, then I attached the Diamonds Background cut out of black cardstock. I cut the Dancers out of white cardstock and popped them up with pop dots to attach.

Oriental Hidden Garden

Happy Monday!! Lisa here to share a project with you using two of the dies from the newest release, as well as several other Die-Versions dies.

For my card, I created a hidden garden. The gate is the new Whispers Oriental Screen. I cut it out in foam and adhered it to the cardstock for some dimension. Thinking of You is from the Compliments Everyday die. Tucked among the flowers is a Whispers Daisy Flair die, which isn't currently in stock.

Open the gate to reveal the beautiful Whispers Geisha taking a stroll with her glittered parasol. She is joined on her stroll with several critters from the Wee-Petites Buggy die set. She's staring at the Whispers Butterfly Garden die (not currently in stock).

You can see all of the dies from the Newest Release HERE. And we'd love to see your projects using Die-Versions dies on our Facebook page HERE.

LoVe

Hello!  Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope this finds you doing well!

Kara here today to showcase the Heart Pops from the Whispers collection!

I had a few different ideas in my mind for the die.  I cut many different colors and ended up with this perfect match.

I laid my solid base down in red and in another cut I did pink.  I knew I only wanted the word 'love' to accent for my top layer.  I cut the word love from the center balloon and glued it down.  It made the perfect look for what I wanted.   I topped it off with Spectrum Noir sparkle pen in pink. I took my clear glitter pen and added a few more strokes of glitter.  A picture can not really pick up the true beautifulness of a glitter pen, but in person it looks stunning.

The Heart Pops die can be found here

The Definition of Love

Welcome to the Universally Crafty Die-Versions Blog! Karen here and today I am sharing a card featuring Die-Version’s beautiful Love Definition heart die. Valentine’s Day will be here before we know it and I am in need of more Valentines. This card was very easy to make and perfect for a loved one. I started with a white A2 cardbase embossed with Tonic Studio’s Forever Moments Rosalyn Embossing Folder. I sponged the embossed areas lightly with a red dye ink and added red pearls in various sizes. I die cut Die-Version’s Love Definition heart out of a red glossy paper and attached.

Love this Die

Hello crafty friends,

Today, I have these two cards showcasing the beautiful Whispers Oriental Fan die:

As soon as I saw this die, I knew I wanted to pair it with my dancing girl stamp. So for my first card, I didn't let the word oriental in the die's name stop me.  I broke the seal on my new (xmas gift from my brother) Zig Brush Pens and water colored my Tilda.  She's not perfect, because this was my first time using the pens and I need a ton more practicing w/them, but I love how she turned out. Once she was colored, I set her aside to dry and started die cutting my die elements.

I wanted red to be a strong focus color, so I die cut the Whispers Oriental Fan and the Express Edges Spanish Hola die from red glitter cardstock.  I stamp "felicitaciones" (congratulations) on a piece of white cardstock and fussy cut a thin banner.  I glued my HOLA behind the sentiment banner and arranged all my elements on the card front, which I had already added a strip of red glitter cardstock and pattern paper to.

On my second card I went with die's intended oriental theme.  I started with a piece of water color like pattern paper for my card's background.  I used a chinese character background stamp called thank you and a little couple from an old oriental stamp set I had.  I die cut two Whispers Oriental Fans in black and arranged them on the card behind my little stamped couple.  The two fans created the perfect ornament for this card.  Next I fussy cut a banner and added my die cut "thank you" using the "thank" and "you" from the Everyday Complements die.

This was a fun die to work with and I already have a couple more ideas for it. Thanks for stopping bye, leave me some feedback or links to your projects using some of these die.

Oriental Fan Celebrate Card

Welcome to the Universally Crafty Die-Versions Blog! Karen here and today I am sharing a card featuring the beautiful Oriental fan die from the newest release from Die-Versions that can be found on the website here. I love all the dies in this new Oriental inspired release! I die cut the Oriental fan twice out of black and white cardstock. I created a black square card base and attached a piece of white cardstock over the right half.  I attached the white fan over the black side and the black fan over the white side. I also die cut Die-Version’s Celebrate Express Edges die in black and white and attached half of each along the bottom of the card. I added a black and pearl floral accent to complete the card.

Mountain Retreat

(You can click on the image to enlarge)

Anne here and I created a card using the new Pagoda die.  Have you seen all the new Asian dies recently released?  If not, you should definitely check them out.  I want all of them :-).

I started out by die cutting it out of white cardstock and a piece of red fun foam.  I used my Copic markers to color the pagoda. Bright yellow paper was adhered to the back of the die cut for the little cut outs.

Once I was happy with the coloring, I heat embossed the entire thing with Clear embossing powder by Ranger.  I love how this makes it look like the pagoda is painted with glossy paint.  Then I adhered this to the fun foam for more dimension.

For the background, I started out with a piece of watercolor paper and used a Dreamweaver stencil (Cherry Blossoms) to add the flowers using Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.  I free-handed the mountains in the background using the Zig markers.  The sky was also watercolored with these Zig markers and a aqua brush.

Remember you can use the code anne15 to receive 15% off your Die-Versions purchase.  So what are you waiting for?  Have fun shopping :-).

My Retro Car

Hello everyone, Martha Lucia here with a retro card to share with you. In today's project I used the Whisper Retro Car, a fantastic die cut.

For this card I used Confetti White card stock and Archival Brilliance Pigment Ink in different colors to create the background. The colors that I used were Pearlescent Coral, Pearlescent Jade, Pearlescent Lime and Pearlescent Poppy, all from Imagine Crafts. The image is a collage created with two of the stamps included on Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set  and a big sun from Kinda Eclectic, both from Stampin Up.

I cut the Whisper Retro Car using Basic Black card stock and before pasting it on the decorated layer, I pasted a circle piece of wood with a gear form inside to use this as a base for the car and gave to it more high. To stamp the last sentiment I used Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, one of my favorites inks.

I just love all of the dies from this Oriental-inspired release. They're all so elegant and beautiful!! For this card, I used the Whispers Oriental Screen for the background, popping it up with foam tape for dimension. The beautiful Whispers Oriental Crane was lightly cut once in black to keep all of the pieces in place. I then added tape to the back to make sure they didn't fall out. I added glitter from Sparkle N Sprinkle and then the top layer. It was also popped up with foam tape. A Sweet Wordlet Celebrate die was added for the sentiment.

Romantic Southwestern Desert

Hi everyone, Martha Lucia here with another Southwestern Card. Today I am sharing my inspiration with the Whisper Southwestern Desert die cut creating a non traditional Valentine Card. This is non traditional but it does depict a very romantic desert.

To create my card I used Crumb Cake card stock for the base and second layer. I stamped over the second layer a Hardwood background with the same color of ink and I cut a square on the upper part to simulate a window. Behind the window, I inked a piece of Whisper White card stock with Tangelo Twist, Sahara Sand and Bermuda Bay Classic Ink. Then I cut two Southwestern Deserts die cuts, one in garden green card stock and other in Soft Suede card stock to paste between these two inked and stamped layers.

As a final touche I stamped a sentiment on the right corner and tied two loops of natural and gold bakers twine to create a bow. Then I pasted the layers over the base of the card and voila, my romantic southwestern desert was ready.

Some Country Fun

Hello crafty friends,

If you know me, you know I don't have a single country/outdoorsy bone in my body, so working with county theme products is definitely out of my comfort zone.  But I found that stepping outside my comfort zone is something worth it and that was the case when working with the Whispers Western Boot die.  I created these two cards that I absolutely love and will definitely be recreating them to have a few of each on hand.

Dies used on these cards:
Whispers Western Boot - on both cards
Corner Concepts Happy Birthday - on the girl card
Sweet Wordlets Birthday - on the boy card
Sweet Wordlets Happy - on the boy card

Maybe I do have a little cowgirl inside me after all.  Thanks for stopping bye, leave me some feedback or links to your projects using some of these die.

Smile Southwestern Gecko

Hello dear friends, Martha Lucia here to celebrate with you the beginning New Year . One of my resolutions is to smile and take on life calmly. Between you and me, I have a fear of lizards but I love to work with them in paper or die cuts. So I started on the right foot!

To make this card I chose the Southwest Gecko Whisper. I cut it in fun foam and Whisper White paper and I gave it color with distress ink.

For the base and layers of the card I selected the Hello Honey, Bermuda Bay and Whisper White card stock. Over the whisper layer, I stamped twice one image from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set by Stampin Up using Bermuda Bay Classic Ink and I created the word Smile with a Jillibean Stencil and Cantaloupe Fire Works from Imagine Crafts.

To give dimension to the die cut Southwest Gecko Whispers I used fun foam behind the inked die cut and then I pasted it over the card. I completed the decoration of the card by adding two loops of black and white bakers twine and a mustard button.

This is definitely my favorite not-so-scary lizard, so from now on you will see this cute animal in my creations!

Happy Birthday Gecko

Hello Die-Versions Fans,

Today I am featuring the new Whispers Southwestern Gecko die and the Whispers Western Sun die on my Birthday card.

Ingredients:

Die-Versions Sweet Wordlets Happy and Birthday
Light gray card stock
various papers from my stash
Black and White Bakers Twine

For this A2 card I started with a light gray card stock for the base of my card.  Next I placed the chevron paper onto the base.  I die cut the Whispers Western Sun die in orange and yellow and inlaid the orange pieces in the yellow sun and added that to the card.  Next I cut out the Whispers Southwestern Gecko die in green patterned paper and dark blue paper and inlaid the dark blue pieces inside the green patterned paper gecko and then added him to a blue square.  I inked the edges of the blue square with black ink and added that to a dark gray square and inked the edges with black ink and placed that on the card. Then I cut out the Sweet Wordlets Happy and Birthday in the same orange paper as in the inlays on the sun and attached that to the top right of the card.  Lastly I tied some black and white bakers twine around the left hand side of the card.  I am really loving this cute little gecko and the adorable sun dies!

Winter Wishes

Hello crafty friends,

Are you a winter person?  Do you look forward to snowy days?  Well, the card I'm showcasing today has all the scenic loveliness of winter without any of the real life winter frustrations.

On this card I used the following:
Whispers Whimsical Town Scene die for the houses
Winter Wonderland Stamp for the trees and the snowman
Winter Wonderland die for the trees and the snowman

I started by stamping, die cutting and coloring all my landscape elements.  I backed the house w/pink pattern paper and backed my card front with a blue winter pattern paper.  Next I fussy cut two "snow" hills from chunky white glitter paper and edged them with a little light blue ink.  I arranged my landscape elements on the card, popping some of them up with foam for added dimension.  I stamp "Winter Wishes" onto a piece of the same pink pattern paper I used to back the houses and created a fish tail banner for the top of my card.  I added tiny "snow" pearls as a finishing touch.   The cards shows a lovely winter scene, which can be enjoyed all year long.

Thanks for stopping bye, leave me some feedback or links to your projects using some of these die.

Kiss your cowboy card

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new  blog post! This time I made a fun Western style card using Die Versions new released die : Southwestern couple.
I used Canvas Corps Western  collection to make the background and the sentiment and used the same cardstock to make parts of die cut images. Just cut them a couple of times and  glue some parts over the black die cut image.
I really love this die and it can be even used as a part of wedding card if the couple is dancers or Western style  fans.
More of great new dies are in DV shop right now!
