Birdhouse Branch

Hello out there!

Seems like it's been a long time since I've posted a Die-Versions project!

I have one of the new release dies to share with you today.
to be a favorite!  I used the inlaid die technique with this card.

The die was cut on blue, pink, green, woodgrain, and the cute grid background papers.
Once I had the background, I put a piece of sticky paper on the back, and began
trimming off pieces to fit in the blanks - just like working a puzzle!

I think this one's a keeper - what do you think?

Be sure to check out the Die-Versions blog each day for inspiration,
and check out the Die-Versions store for new products, sales, and lots of
temptations!

Thanks for stopping by today,

Hat's Off To You!!

Happy Monday!! Lisa here to share a project with you using the Straw Hat Whispers die from the newest release!!

I wanted my hat to have some dimension so I cut it four times and cut around the center circles, popping each layer up with teeny-tiny pieces of foam tape. I mounted the hat on a Whispers Heart Burst die so it looks like it has a lacy edge :)

I cut a few Whispers Daisy Flair dies and tucked them among the flowers. The button on the bow is a Wee Petites Button die.

You can see all of the dies from the new release HERE. And be sure to stop back tomorrow for inspiration and ideas on how to use our products. We would love to see your creations using Die-Versions stamps/dies on our Facebook page HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Easter Basket

Easter is right around the corner and I thought I'd use the new Straw Basket from Die-Versions to show what our Easter baskets look like before the Easter Bunny comes to fill them :-).

The "straw" (Pine Grove tinsel glitter) is already there, just waiting to have lots of candy and goodies pilled on top.  My basket was die cut from fun foam and I colored the foam with Copics.  The frame is covered with Diamond Dust glitter, which is a chunky glitter from Sparkle N Sprinkle.

The border is the DV Butterfly Garden border.  I die cut the butterflies from this several times to have them fluttering around.  Added a strip of ribbon and now my basket is all ready for the Easter Bunny to visit!

Celebrate a great day layout with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here and I welcome you  to my layout post today.
This is a very springy layout I made with a photo of my two darling grand children and I  added a lot of interest with 4 of Die- Versions dies.
The first one is this fantastic Funky octagons background that I die cut from patterned paper and stacked under the photo to make my  photo matting.
The second is the main title one and I use Celebrate cut out die to make this two dies title. My lovely babies are celebrating our Jewish Holiday called Shavuot and it's all about nature, flowers and  a tribute to late Spring.
Then I added a part of A great day die cut - without the circle- to make this full layout title.

The last die used is  this  Scrolly bow I added under the photo and embellished with stickers over it.

I hope you liked my layout and the way I used my old, but beloved dies to make this page complete.

Mushroom Shaker

Shaker cards are still the rage, so I thought this new Mushroom set from Die-Versions would be the perfect focal point for my shaker card.

After the mushrooms were die cut, they were colored with Copic markers and then I heat embossed the tops with Sparkle embossing powder from Sparkle N Sprinkle.  The Hello was die cut using the DV Hello Express Edge out of the same patterned paper as my background.

My circle frame was cut from sticker paper and I added Lapis Lazuli glitter by Martha Stewart.  The inside of the shaker was filled with stars, sequins, and more glitter.

All the elements came together quickly to create a fun interactive card.

Feliz Cumpleanos Papi

Hello crafty friends,

Today is my father's 79th birthday and I made him a super cute card using the new Frog In The Pond die.

This new die is so easy (and cute) to work with.  I beef'ed (is that even a word?)  him up by die cutting a few extra lily pads (the bottom of the die) and arranging them on the card so that Mr Frog had a bigger area to sit on.  I also die cut a few extra flowers and tucked them around him for more visual interest.

I used the Express Edges Spanish Felicidades die on the right side of the card. I basically die cut the Felicidades right into the card's front panel, which I later covered with wood grain pattern paper for a masculine/nature feel.

For my photo, I added the following birthday related die cuts to a chalkboard stand I got at Hobby Lobby: the Whispers Big Balloon die, the Spanish Feliz Cumpleanos die and the Spray Paint Font die.

I love how my card turned out and I can't wait to give it to my Dad later today.  Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy the first weekend of Spring. Until next time...

Rain Boots and Shamrocks

Hello Die-Versions Fans,

Top of the Mornin' To You!  And a Happy Saint Patrick's Day too!!  On this joyous Irish holiday I  wanted to take a wee moment of your time and show you two cards that I have created!! My first card features the new Rain Boots die from the new Die-Versions February Spring Release.  The Spring release is so much fun ~ I want all the dies!

For this A2 card I started with kelly green card stock for the base of the card and I added the printed paper after inking the edges with green ink.  I used this patterned paper because it reminded me of rain coming down!  I cut out the Rain Boots die once in the bright green paper and then placed that on the mint green paper and fussy cut around it, next I took the same two papers and cut out the         Whispers Made in the Shade umbrella die pieced them together and then I added them both to the card.  Next I stamped the sentiment on a piece of white paper and I took my distress inks to make a rainbow and then added that to the card!  And here is my next card for St. Patty's Day!!

For this A2 card I took some kelly green cardstock for the base of the card and then added the Irish Plaid paper to the base.  Next I cut out the  Whispers Bug Jar die twice, once in white paper and once in vellum.  Then I took a shamrock punch I have and punched out a bunch of green shamrocks and glued them on the white paper jar.  Next I colored the lid with a grey Copic marker, then I added the vellum jar on top of the jar and shamrocks.  Next I put the Good Luck sticker onto the mint green paper and cut that out like a tag and took some two tone green bakers twine and and tied the tag onto to the jar and added that to the card.   Next I die cut the Sweet Wordlets Blessing in the mint green paper and added that to the card.   I love the way both the cards turned out!  And now I have a little Irish Blessing for you that goes along with both cards!

Wishing you a rainbow
For sunlight after showers–
Miles and miles of Irish smiles
For golden happy hours–
Shamrocks at your doorway
For luck and laughter too,
And a host of friends that never ends
Each day your whole life through!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!!

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Happy Monday!! Lisa here to share a card with you featuring a couple of the awesome new dies from the February 2015 release.

Spring is a mere four days away, so I had that in mind when I created this card. I used the new Whispers Rain Boots die (my favorite from this release!!), along with the Whispers Whispers Closed Umbrella die.

I covered both the boots and the umbrella in Glossy Accents so they have a shiny sheen...like they've been out in the rain :)

I used a Whispers Daisy Flair along the bottom to represent May flowers.

You can see all of the dies from the new release HERE. And be sure to stop back here often for inspiration and ideas on how to use our products. We would love to see your creations using Die-Versions stamps/dies on our Facebook page HERE.

Spring Bike Ride

Hello Die-Versions Fans,

Today I would like to share with you a card that I made with one of the new dies from the February Spring Release called Whispers "Spring Bike".

I love this new Spring Release!  After a very long and cold winter this new release is just the Breath of Fresh Spring Air that we are all in so much need of!  I love this bike with the basket of tulips ~ it just makes me smile!

For this A2 card I started with a piece of Spring Green card stock for the base of the card, then I took a piece of paper (with bikes) from the new Pebbles "Happy Day" paper pack, inked the edges with faded jeans distress ink and added that to the base of the card.  Next I took the Whipspers Spring Bike die and cut it out three times in different colors of paper, cut them apart and pieced the bike together and added that to the card, next I took one of the little squares from that same paper pack and cut it out and inked the edges with a lime green ink, added that to a tag in the Spring Green paper, inked the edges with lime green ink, tied a bow with some bakers twine and added that to the card!  Boom!  Easy Peasy!  And I love the fresh Spring look!  I sure hope you like it too!

Spring Bike

Die-Versions just released 15 new spring themed dies and today I'm showcasing the new Spring Bike die.

This is a pretty quick and easy card to reproduce.  I started out by die cutting the Spring Bike twice, once in black cardstock and once from cream cardstock.  I fussy cut the basket and flowers from the cream piece and colored it with Copic markers and Spica glitter pens.  This was then adhered on top of the black die cut piece, giving the basket and flowers more dimension and creating a focal point.

The sentiment, which is from the Across the Miles rubber stamp set by Sparkle N Sprinkle, was stamped onto vellum with VersaMark and then heat set with Black Detail embossing powder.

Wish upon a star

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my new post in Die- Versions blog!
Irit is here today and today I want to touch the stars.Maybe not the real stars, but sure a lot of them and those are stars that you can touch. Paper made, chipboard made, glittered, die cut, hand cut- name a technique and you can touch this kind of the  star on my new altered project.
This is my Mixed Media  project made with a hand cut big star all full with Mixed Media products, inks, stencil, texture paste etc.  It can be a wall ornament or even a kind of next Christmas ornament and maybe just a tag to add to a big present or just a small  " Wish you " kind of a card.

First I covered the hand cut star with a mix of Clearsnap  inks mixed later with a bit of water spray.
When it was dry I added texture paste stars using Stars mask  and let it dry.
In the meantime I die cut this fancy star from a regular cardstock using Die Versions  Delicate Star most gorgeous die, covered it with blue ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.
Then I added a bit of yellow  ink over the stars and sprinkled them with clear glitter.

The chipboard stars were heat embossed with gold embossing powder and all stars were glued over the piece. I made the sentiment with old tiny letter stickers and added a few big rhinestone over my shiny star.

Enjoy your inky journey !

Celebrate

Happy Monday!! Lisa here to share a couple of cards with you today. Have you seen the new release? The dies are so awesome and you will be seeing projects using those dies soon. For my cards today, I am using several of my favorite older dies.

I used a Whispers Heart Burst die to cut out the window in the card. I love the scalloped edge it creates...plus I have a die to use for another project :) When I was putting the card together, I had cut a couple of the Whispers Hexagon Background dies to use for the background, thinking I would just use one on each card. But I tossed one down over the other and loved the design!! It completely changed the look of the hexagons. So I glued two together and adhered them to the card.

The butterflies are Whispers Pretty Wings dies. I cut it twice and adhered them together and then popped them up with foam tape. Celebrate is a Sweet Wordlet die. A Wee Petite Button die was used on the ribbon.

Shake Shake

Hello crafty friends,

I'm obsessed with Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off".  I just can't get it out of my head.  So both of today's cards are shaker card... LOL

On my first card, I took the Smile frame die and turned into my shaker.  Sorry, I know it's hard to see the "smile", because all the sequins fell to the bottom of the shaker.  I placed a branch from the Owl My Thanks Stamp and Owl My Thanks Die sets inside my shaker for added interest.

I also placed a second branch on the outside of the shaker and added a cute owl on top.  I stamped the "Hoot-arrific" sentiment from the Owl My Thanks stamp set and this card is ready to send.

On my second card, I first cut a piece of pattern paper for my front panel.  I took the Lucky Scallop die and used it to die cut the scallop window. Remember your dies can do double duty if you think of the negative space/shape they make.  The window (negative shape) made by the Lucky Scallop die makes a fantastic shaker window.

I stamped two of the flying owls from the Owl My Thanks Stamp set and added silver and white sequins.  This time I glued some the of sequins, so that when all the sequins fall to the bottom there are still a few in the "air".

Something to think about (I learned this the hard way on my first card).  When attaching your open back shaker window directly to the card front, you will have to place your shaker bits (sequins, micro beads, etc.) in what will be the center of your shaker on the card's front, because if you place those bits on the inside of the shaker window, you can't turn the window upside down to attach it to the card's front. You end up having to keep the window face down and position your card front over it. And in doing that, you will not have a way to align the shaker window.  Does this make sense?

On both of these cards, I ended up placing my sequins directly on the card's front in the center of the shaker window and carefully (so the sequins don't move) attached the shaker window.

Thanks for stopping bye.  I hope you have enjoyed your time here and that you came back soon. My next post is in two weeks and it will probably feature dies from the new release.  It's been fun creating with Jan2015's release, but I'm looking forward to new goodies to play with.  If you would like to see more of my work just click here to visit my blog.  Until next time

Pretty Wings and Love in the Air

Hello Friends!

I'm here today to share a pretty card that was created using the
Die-Versions stamp set, "Love in the Air" DV-9016, and
Die-Versions die, "Pretty Wings" Whispers DVW-383.

I've been a wee bit smitten with the new Bokeh technique, and thought I'd give it a try today, for this card.  I masked off a section in the center of a white panel, and just created oodles of circles of different colors and sizes.  I came back in with some white ink with the final circles.
When I had the background finished, I cut very thin strips of the black and aqua cardstocks, and
created a tiny border on each side of the sentiment.
Two of the beautiful butterflies were cut.  One was placed off the edges of the focal panel,
and the excess trimmed away.  The other was mounted at the top of the card with some Tombow glue, and the wings were lifted up for dimension.
The last step was to scatter a few sequins.  A girl has to have a bit of bling, right?

I can't wait to see what the next new release from Die-Versions bring!
Check back soon, as they should be here any day!

Hope you give this fun and easy technique a try for your backgrounds!

If you want to do some shopping for dies and stamps, be sure to check out the Die-Versions website! They have some wonderful dies that cut like butter, and are so affordable!
And now - they have sweet stamps too!!!

Have a wonderful day - thanks for stopping by!

Celebrate Saint Patty's Day!

Hello Die-Versions Fans,

Since this is the beginning of March I thought I would start the month off with a Saint Patrick's Day card!!

For this A2 card I started with the brown polka dot card stock for the base of this card.  Then I took the Cut Out Celebrate die and ran it thru my Vagabond, then I put a piece of green paper on the inside of the card so the green paper would show thru the openings.  Next I took some of the same green paper and I cut out the Whispers Shamrock Flourish and added that to the card.  The Erin go Bragh is a sticker I had in my stash and I just added it to some of the green paper and then added that to the card too!!  So I hope this puts you in the mood for "the wearin' of the green"!!
