Happy 4th of July Week

Hello crafty friends,

I'm looking forward to the upcoming 4th of July weekend.  My In-Laws throw a small party every year and I truly enjoy it.  I love chatting w/their friends.  Growing up my parents didn't do any entertaining, so I've always been in awe of the stories about my In-Law's parties.

I'm not sure which of the three patriotic cards I made I will be attaching to my In-Law's host/hostess gift, but I think any one of them would be very welcome.

Card #1 - I used the cute Beach Turtle Whispers die as my star player on this card.  I die cut it from watercolor paper and used Distress Ink to watercolor my element red and blue.  I added Glossy Accents over the turtles for some added interest.   The tag was also watercolored on watercolor paper. I printed the text on that's on the tag before cutting it into a tag.

Card #2 - I used the beautiful Dolphin Fun Whispers die on this card.  I die cut 3 red elements and 3 blue elements from pattern papers.  I started by positioning one of the red elements on the center of my card and arranging the others into a grid. I only needed 3 of each, because the parts I cut off on the right side were I used on the left side.

I stamped some stars on the white spaces (I'm can't seem to make cards w/white spaces) and added dots of Stickles.

Card #3 - I used the Cove Whispers die on this card.  This die is currently out of stock, but should be back in the stores soon.

This was probably the easiest card off all three to make.  It took minutes.  I started by printing a flag image to about the size of the die (3.5"x4") and die cutting the element from it.  I made a quick video of this.

I stamped some fireworks in white on the background, right on the blue grid pattern paper.

When I set out to make these cards, I challenge myself to make patriotic cards with each of these dies, because I feel that most dies can be made to fit most themes.  Of course, an Americana/Patriotic theme is a pretty easy one to achieve :)   Until next time

    1. Thanks Shona :) I think a patriotic look is one of the easiest to achieve w/just about any product. I have family in Florida who will be getting two of the cards :)
