Out Of This World... Take 2

Hello crafty friends,

It's been so much fun to play with Die-Versions' newly released stamp and die sets.   One of the sets I received was the Out Of This World Stamp Set and the Out Of This World Die Set and I have been having so much fun playing and creating with them.   I'm a space geek as are my husband and son, so I know I will find lot of uses for these two sets.  I already have several cards and layouts ready for future posts.   Today I'll show you a layout and a card.

The layout documents our trip last summer to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.  Don't get me started on how incredibly fantastic this place was.  I wanted my layouts to be extra special and was waiting for the right products and design to come among.

I started the layout w/a large (12x7) photo of the guys standing under the coolest rocket ever made.  I created a border to the right of the large photo with my die cuts.  They were absolutely the perfect embellishment for this page. I used the "reach for the stars" stamp sentiment as the beginning and ending for the quote "reach for the moon even if you miss, you'll land among the stars", which I place to the right of the two smaller photos.

The hardest part of this layout was coming up with a title.  I would think of something and dismiss it right away.  I kept coming back to the "out of this world" sentiment on the stamp set.  I really liked it, but knew I had to do something with it to make it stand out, because titles are suppose to be large and bold... right?

It took me a little while to came up with the idea of giving the stamped "out of this world" sentiment more visual weight by using strong words next to it.

I love how the layout turned out, but in all honestly if I were to do it again, I would print and stamp my journaling right onto the photo instead of the transparency I used.

The first card I created with the Out Of This World Stamp Set and the Out Of This World Die Set was this "Wish you a Stellar Birthday" card that was feature on the Die-Versions' news letter.

I also used the Express Edges BIRTHDAY die and the Lady Liberty Font die on this card.

Who wouldn't love getting a card like this one.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today.  If you got this set of stamps and dies, I would love to see your projects.  Post them or a link of them on our facebook page.

Until next time
