Teardrop Punch Border

Hello Die-Versions Fan,

Lori here today and this is my last post for the month of April.  Today I would like to share two cards with you that I made using the new Die-Versions Teardrop Punch Border die:  Here is my first card:

For this A2 card I started with the dark teal cardstock for the base of the card.  Then I cut out the Teardrop Punch Border die with some light blue paper.  Next I cut two of the Whispers Lacey Dots in white and attached that to the edges of the Teardrop Punch Border.  Then I cut out two dragonflies and two butterflies from the Wee Petites Buggy die and attached all of that to the card.  I know it needs a sentiment, but to be honest I couldn't think of anything for this card yet!!  If you have any suggestions for a sentiment for this card, please leave it in the comment area!!

My next card is in honor of the last rainy day of April here in NJ!!

For this A2 card I started with white cardstock for the base of the card.  Then I took a piece of  blue marble paper and added that to the card to make it to look like the sky.  Next I stamped out my Monkey and colored him in with copic markes.  Next I cut out the Made in the Shade die and cut out the umbrella twice, once in a solid blue and once in a print paper and pieced it together.  Next I cut out Marker Micro font  in the same solid blue paper and added the April Shower to the card.  I also fussy cut and inked a cloud over the top of the teardrop punch border. Here's hoping that this is the last of the cold rainy days and that May will bring us May Flowers and Spring Weather!!

In love with bricks (backgrounds )

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here again (I promise, it's my last time this month...) and today I am going to share 2 cards made with a very same background die : Bricks background.
The first card is my Welcome card made with a new April release  Express banners Welcome die. I made the brick background cut and then left the inner part only and even a few uncut bricks. The Welcome title was die cut from black cardstock to be seen and the letter "O" was altered with Prima flower center. Some bare chipboards were added  over the wall and I misted it with golden yellow mist.

My second card is the Graduation card made just with themed  paper and stickers. Then I felt that something is missing and added this die cut Bricks background  using the very same patterned paper line. You still can see all hats in the air over the inner background paper and yet this brick wall die gives us a dimension we needed.

Celebrating You

To create this card I used Inspired by Stamping Vintage Floral paper pad, brown and pink colored cardstock.

For the banners I used Die-Versions Express Banners Die "It's Your Day"

Have a great day!

Easy made card with new April dies

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit s here again and this time with my new Nautical card.

This Ovals background is just perfect simulation of waves, so I covered this nautical Fancy Pants paper with red Ovals cut and then added some marine  goodies: heat embossed chipboards and a wooden piece  were just perfect as my focal point for this card.
I die cut " For You" title twice- once from black cardstock and once from white and made a shadow effect from the black background. Then I painted the white top with small drops of red paint and added the same paint over my chipboard ship's flags.

Please be sure to check the DV blog everyday for more ideas of how to use the new April Die-Versions dies!  Our Design Team has really done a wonderful job with these new dies and I know you are going to love their projects and want all the dies too!!  And don't forget to share your creations with on us on the DV Facebook page.

Hooray!

Good morning, and welcome to my post for the Die-Versions Blog!
This month's release was so much fun.  I know - I say that EVERY month!
It's true, but I just love these dies!

This first card uses the Die-Versions Express Banners 'Hooray' die.
I love that by using this sentiment, the card could be sent for any type of celebration!

Die-Versions Express Banners DVB-013 - Hooray

I'm sorry, just couldn't help myself!  This Die-Versions 'Amazing' Sweet Frame just called
for our granddaughters photo.  Don't you agree?  For this card, I die cut the little frame
from a sheet of sticky paper, and covered it with some Silk Microfine Glitter that
was a gift from my friend Diane.  Add a photo, a bit of embossing, and a ribbon, and voila!

Die-Versions Sweet Frames DVSF-005 - Amazing

Be sure to drop in often at the Die-Versions blogstore, and Facebook page. There's always
some fun inspiration, and Dani's dies are 'AMAZING'!!!

Have a great day,
Patti J.

Baby Shower Invitation

Have you checked out this month's new release from Die-Versions?  If not, then you definitely should.  Anne here with a shaped card which incorporates three of the newest dies: Baby Shower Express BannerLove This Express Edges Mini, and the Hexagon Punch Border.  The lace around the leg openings was die cut from the Lacey Dots die.

One of the things I normally do when I get a new batch of dies in is to die cut them right away from plain copy paper and let them sit on my desk.  That way, the ideas start to percolate slowly until something comes together.

I knew I wanted to make a diaper shaped card when I cut the banner, but wasn't sure what to do with the hexagon punch border.  Then it hit me that this reminded me of the velcro fasteners on the sides of a diaper, and the rest is history :-).

To create this card, I started with some older Graphic 45 papers (Little Darlings), hand drew the diaper shape and cut it out.  Distressed embossing technique was applied along all the edges using Sparkle N Sprinkle Sea Foam embossing powder.  I also heat embossed the Love This Express Edge Mini with Sea Foam embossing powder.  The baby image, which is part of the G45 paper pad, was hinged so you could write the details of the baby shower underneath and still have a flat invitation for mailing.

Houndstooth Ideas

Greetings Crafty Friends,

Mary here today with three projects featuring the Whispers - Houndstooth Background die.

Project ONE is this "HAPPY" card... To get this look, I die cut two of Whispers - Houndstooth Background dies (in yellow and blue). Then used a basic set of circle dies to cut a few rings out of my two Whispers - Houndstooth Background die cuts.

I glued the rings to the circle Whispers - Houndstooth Background dies and added the HAPPY from the Corner Concepts - Happy Birthday die.   This technique can be recreated with any background die and set of nesting shape dies.

Project TWO is this card... this time I used the Whispers - Houndstooth Background die in it's full form as a layer on my card.  I once again reached for my Corner Concepts - Happy Birthday die, this time sliding it into slits I made in the gray banner.   I love this card and have set it aside to give my Father-In-Law for his bday next month :)

Project THREE is this layout...  I used the the Whispers - Houndstooth Background die as a texture background. I tore the die cuts (4 of them) apart, so all my visible edges were rough and a little gungy.

I hope you have enjoyed my three projects and that I have inspired you to use your background dies in different ways.  Until next time...

Pretty dream on canvas with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends! Irit is here with my very first project with April new release. As I live in Israel, it usually takes time to get my new released dies and it means 3 posts from me in a very near time.
So for my first project I made this altered canvas and it was a fine way to show you all that DV dies are not just for card makers.
I called it Pretty dream and it's my red- orange- yellow  dream of summer, also it's really black and white project with a few mists only.

My 8*8'' canvas was painted with chalkboard paint. Then I  added texture with white paste and two masks (TCW and Tando Creative)
The next step was to add some more texture with a few washi tapes and then I made a die cut with new April Ovals Background  die (just white cardstock) and cutout the edges. Altered art should never be perfect and the full die cut is  so much perfect that you just need to tear/cut it to fit the Mixed Media project. All die cuts were glued with Mod Podge.
The second die I used from the new April release is this  Sweet frame PRETTY, but again, I just used the word of it. Then I stamped a few big flowers, cut them out and glued over the main die cut piece. The stamped word Dream was glued under the word Pretty and made this canvas' title.

I also added  the Lacy dots' edger  die cut  on the lower right corner, some flowers  and then misted the whole piece with 3-4 mists to get this summer mood canvas.

Happy Birthday!!

Happy Friday everyone!! Lisa here to share a project with you using two of the newest dies from the awesome Die-Versions April Release!!

I actually used several Die-Versions dies on this card, starting with the new Whispers Circles Background and the Whispers Butterfly Border. I love these dies!! They add such amazing dimension.

On the edges of the Circles Background die, I used the Whispers Loopy Lace die and added crystal gems. "Happy" was created with A Little Mint Font. "Birthday" is a Birthday Sweet Wordlet die. I used a Whispers Butterfly Garden die to cut vellum and added it among the flowers. A Wee Petite Button die was added in the center of the bow.

I used the Whispers Butterfly Border on the inside as well and added some of the punched butterflies to the sentiment.

A Warm Hello...

A Warm Hello to you all!  I'm happy to be here, posting for Die-Versions.  My cards today are featuring dies from the April release.  Both were fun to create, and I hope they give you a smile or two!

This card was my very first attempt using modeling creme.

Supplies:  Die-Versions Whispers DVW-348 'Pebbles Background' Die, Tiddly Inks Image, Tim Holtz Distress Inks, Perfect Papercrafting tools (see sidebar for details), Copic Markers.

To begin, I die cut the fabulous Pebbles Background to use as a stencil.  Seriously, love this die!
A piece of cardstock was cut to the same size.

The next step was to place the 'stencil' over the cardstock.

Then I quickly spread the modeling creme over the top of the stencil.
I immediately removed the 'stencil', and scraped the excess back into the jar.
Of course, since I am a hoarder, I saved the 'stencil' for another project!
The modeling creme takes only a short while to dry.  Once dry, I just sponged
some pretty ink colors on, and used the beautiful pebble background to create this happy card!

The white panel was cut to card front size, and I die cut the border on each side. This would
have been fun to just leave the white space in the center, but I couldn't resist using a fun digi image,
and doing an 'outside the box' type of center panel.  Don't you just LOVE these drops?
Here's a giggle for you - after the card was entirely finished, I realized that the teardrops were
upside down!  Go ahead and laugh - I'm sure you've had days like that!

Supplies:  Die-Versions Whispers DVW-351 'Teardrop Punch Border', Bugaboo Image, Copic Markers, Perfect Papercrafting Rulers (see sidebar for details)

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hope that you are all well, and enjoying your week.

Hugs & Blessings,
Patti J.

Make A Wish

Hello Die-Versions Fans,

Lori here today and I am going to share with you a two page layout I made with the new Die-Versions  April Release  "Make A Wish" Banner and some other Die-Versions dies too!!   Here is the two page layout:

On the right hand page I used the Express Banners  "Make A Wish", the Wee-Petites Super Stars, the Happy Birthday Corner Concepts, the number 5 from the Lotta Lime Font and the Whispers Heart Pop balloons die.

On the left side of the layout I used the Short Stop Font to write Julie and the Happy Express Edge and the Birthday Express Edge and two of the stars from the Wee-Petites Super Stars.

Here is a close up of the "Make A Wish" Banner:

I really love this banner and with the stars added to the ends I think it is just perfect for a Birthday card or layout.

Sweet Phrases "Wish I Was With You"

Hello Die-Versions fans!

Emmy here with a new project to share!

To create my card I used a Sweet Phrases die from the newest Die-Versions release:

For my sentiment I used the Sweet Phrases Die "Wish I Was With You". I die cut the hexagon two times - once from pattern paper and once from brown cardstock and I exchanged the letters to create a better visual effect.

I added a lot of different layers from cardstock and pattern paper.

I hope you enjoyed today's post!

Come back tomorrow for more inspirational projects from our design team!
