You are my HERO

Anne here for today's post and I hope you've enjoyed seeing all the Die-Versions new releases this month.  As I mentioned in the Die-Versions/Operation Write Home Blog Hop (you can see that post here), these dies are a fundraising product to help OWH.

For my last project this month, I created a fun tag using a digi from Bugaboo Stamps (kidlet army) and a few Die-Versions dies.  These include the new Hero with Star Sweet Phrases die, the You Are Express Edge, and the A Little Mint font.

As you can see from the close-up of the digi, I printed him a couple of times so I could add dimensional dots behind his helmet, arm, and shoe.  He's colored with Copic markers (as usual for me).  One thing I did, but it doesn't show up very well in the photos, is that I used pop dots with different thichness to give it a more realistic look.  On his arm, I used a thicker pop dot near his hand and a thinner one by his elbow.  I also used thinner pop dots on the sides of the helmet and a thicker one in the middle.  This gives a great effect, so you might think about varying the heights of your pop dots in the future too.

The tag background was created using a variety of Distress Stains.  I just kept adding colors until I was happy with the results (so I didn't write any of them down).

For the Hero with Star Sweet Phrases die, I die cut it in several colors and paper pieced the inside, so it still looks flush.  This photo shows the shiny mirrored cardstock the best.  Since you can't use glitter on any OWH project, this was one way I could still give it a lot of shine.

Eagle Badge Tag

Happy Friday, everyone!! Lisa here to share a project with you using the awesome new Eagle Badge Whispers die from the the March release, which is also a fundraising project for Operation Write Home.

For my project today, I created a tag with all things Patriotic: stars, stripes, red, white & blue and an eagle :)

The Eagle Badge Whispers Die was cut in heavyweight cardstock three times and glued together for dimension. It is mounted on a Stars Tag Shapes Die. The letters in USA were cut with the A Little Mint Die.

I used the chalkboard technique for the sentiment...embossing it in white embossing powder and then lightly running chalk over the top. The star borders were cut with the Stars Tag Shapes Die.

You can check out all of the fabulous dies from the newest release HERE.
You can watch videos showcasing the dies on our YouTube Channel HERE.

We would love to see your Die-Versions projects on our Facebook page HERE.

Rock On!

Hi there, and Happy Thursday!
So happy that you stopped by today, as it's my day to post for Die-Versions Dies.
Today, I'm featuring the Die-Versions Sweet Spot Die, "Rock On".
Check out all of the darling Sweet Spot dies at Die-Versions! You won't be disappointed!

This die cuts so smoothly. I love the way the cardstock just falls right out of the die. The letters cut uniformly, and the little pieces just fall away with a flick of my fingertips.  Another thing that I like about this, is that the words stand alone, as well.  Simply trim the circle from around the words, and you have two individual words to add to your card front, scrapbook page, or altered item! The possibilities are endless!

I wanted to work with a card layout that would showcase the Sweet Spots die, and I think this works well! I plan to use the layout again with other Sweet Spots!  The Amuse Studio cardstocks seem to work perfectly for this style, as all of their cardstock is white on the back side.

I hope that you will check out the great products at the Die-Versions store,
and that you'll become a follower here at the Die-Versions blog!
The ideas from our design team are fresh and fun every day!

Heroes

Hello Die-Versions Fans,

Lori here today and I am going to be sharing some cards with you that I made with the new Express Edges Hero die. This is another one of the dies from the March release where some of the purchase price goes to Operarion Write Home.  Here is my first card:

For this A2 card I started with dark green cardstock for the base of the card and then I cut the Karen Foster "Hero Stripes" paper to 4 inches by 5 1/4 inches and added that to the base. Next I cut out the Express Edges Hero and the Whipsers Military Tags in silver paper and added that to the card.  For a finishing touch I added three silver triangle brads to the top left corner of the card.  Now all I have to do is write a letter to Any Hero and send it to OWH.  For my next card:

I started with a navy blue cardstock for the base of the card, then I cut out the Bo Bunny Anthem red paper and used the Express Edges Hero die to cut into the bottom of the red paper.  Next I cut out the Express Edges Hero in the Bo Bunny off-white paper from the same Anthem package and I inlaid the off-white paper to the bottom of the red paper.  Then to finish it off I cut out the Whispers Military Tags die in silver paper and added them to the card.  Another Any Hero card ready to be written.  My next card:

For this card I started with white cardstock for the base of the card and then I cut out the Express Edges Hero die in red, white and blue paper and layered them on top of the white base.  Next I cut out some red, white and blue stars and added them to the card, a nice patriotic card for Any Hero waiting to be written in!  And since I think all Moms are Heroes too, my next card is a card for a Hero to send home to his or her Mom for Mother's Day:

For this card I started with a light blue cardstock for the base of the card.  I cut out a 4 inch by 5 1/4 inch piece of Bo Bunny Double Dot paper in pink and placed that on the base of the card.  Then I took some Bo Bunny green dot paper and cut that out with Whispers Heart Flower Frame and added that to the card.  Next I cut out the flower on the frame in Bo Bunny pink dot paper and placed that on the card.  Then I took my Express Edges Hero die and cut out blue woodgrain paper and added the Hero to the bottom of the card.  Next I cut out Mom and My in the same blue woodgrain paper using the Short Stop Font to match the Hero font and placed that inside the heart.  Now who doesn't think thier Mother is a Hero??

Greetings

Crafty friends,   For my last official post w/dies from the March 2014 release, I have two birthday cards.

Ladies first, so here's a simple card featuring a large stamped imaged and the Sweet Phrases Just For You die.  Have you noticed that the die cut is not in the shape of a ticket?  Well, I wanted more of a tag then a ticket shape, so I took my die cut and squared off the edges.  Then using a corner rounder punch, I rounded off the corners.

I never hesitate to tweak my die cuts to fit my needs.  In fact, this idea just popped into my head... the Sweet Phrases Just For You die can easily be cut in half to separate the "just for" from the "you". The "just for" die cut part can be used on a card or layout w/a large stamped "YOU".

My second card features the following dies: Sweet Phrases Happy BDayCorner Concepts Happy Birthday and Whispers Medal.   Once again i tweaked my die cuts by not using the "Happy" from the Corner Concepts Happy Birthday die.

I hope you have enjoy your time on our blog today and that I have inspired you in a small way to look at your dies with fresh eyes.  Until next time, with a new release (how FUN)...

With love and with some dies too

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here with my second and last March release post and today it's a layout.
I   already made too many cards with this Military release and now it was a right time to add some of those dies to a masculine layout.
This lo features a lot of my DH photos and as he is well known " traveller" those die cut add- ons were just a must.

Here are 2 new dies I used for this page

I hope you liked my layout and you adore our new February release as much as I do.

I Adore You!!

Happy Thursday and happy first day of spring!!  Lisa here to share a project with you today using the new I Adore You Sweet Phrase Die from the March release, which is also a fundraising project for Operation Write Home.

For this card, I chose Prima's Divine stack for the hexagon papers. The base layer is a Whispers Hexagons Background Die that I used to highlight the hexagon shape of the I Adore You Sweet Phrase Die and to tie into the paper. A Wee Petite Button Die was used for the center of the bow.

The I Adore You Sweet Phrase Die was cut in heavyweight white cardstock and then a piece of clear plastic was adhered behind so the negative pieces could be attacheded. It was popped up with foam tape for dimension.

I used the Wee Petites Heart Doodles Die to cut the hearts. The hearts come attached and instead of cutting them apart, I kept them together and ran it through my die-cutting machine so it made it super-easy to create a fun design.

Sweet Phrases "Miss Your Face"

Hello Die-Versions fans!

Emmy here today with a new project to share.

To create my card I mixed three different Die-Versions dies: Sweet Phrases "Miss Your Face" {from the newest March 2014 release}, Whispers "Little Owlette" and Whispers "Leafy Swirl".

To create my sentiment I die cut the "Miss Your Face" hexagon from beige and brown cardstock. Then I combined the two colors together to make the phrase pop.

I die cut the Little Owlette from a brown cardstock and layered it on a beige cardstock.

Then I die cut the Leafy Swirl two times from pattern paper and arranged it as if the owl is sitting on it. To finish off my design I added paper roses, a pink heart and pink liquid pearls around my sentiment.

I hope you enjoyed today's post!

Come back tomorrow for more inspirational projects from our design team!

I Adore You!!

Hello Die-Versions Fans!!

Lori here today and I would like to share with you some cards that I have made with the Sweet Phrases I Adore You die.  Here is the first one:

For this A2 card I started with tan cardstock for the base of the card.  Next I cut a piece of CTMH Roxie patterned paper to 5 1/4 inches by 4 inches and attached that to the card.  Next I used two coordinating papers in that pack, one plaid and one solid and I cut out the I Adore you die one in each paper and in-laid the letters.  Next I added the rose sticker and the bird sticker to the card and there it is already to go!!  Here is my next one:

For this card I started with white cardstock for the base of the card and then I cut out the blue and white striped paper and attached that.  Next I took some paptterned paper and white paper and cut out the I Adore You die in both colors and in-laind them together and added that to the card.  Next I cut out some white paper with the Whispers Lacey Dots die and attached that to the card.  Then I cut out the Whispers Leaves and Vines die in coordinating blue paper and attached that to the card.  For my next card I wanted a different look:

For this card I used some of the same CTMH Roxie paper, but I started with the plain patterned paper first, then I cut out the I Adore You die in pink and ecru and in-laid it and attached it to the card.  I used several stickers from the coordinating sticker pack, the bird, the rose and the brown swirly that is sort of hard to see in the picture, but it is there!!  Now for my last card I had to go with a Patriotic Card in honor of the OWH Fund Raiser dies for March and here it is:

For this card I used the 2 different sheets of the Bo Bunny Anthem paper.  I used the red and off white stripes paper and the off white and blue polka dot paper.  I cut out two I Adore You dies one in the off white and blue polka dot paper and one in red paper and in-laid the dies, but before I attached this to the card I also cut out the Whispers Hexagon Backgrounds die in blue paper, tore it a bit and added that to the card and then I placed the I Adore You die on part of that.  So now this is a perfcet card to use for an Any Hero card for OWH or just to send to them for one of our deployed heroes to send this home to a loved one!!

I hope you have enjoyed seeing this great I Adore You die used in so many different ways, I just wanted you to see how versatile it is and how you add either stickers or other dies and make it look different and unique!

Crochet Lace

Good morning, and Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Today is my day to post here on the Die-Versions Blog, and I've chosen to showcase the beautiful 'Crochet Lace' Die.  I've used this border die in three ways, to give an idea of the versatility of this,
or any of the Die-Version border dies.

First up is the border used diagonally.  I think it really pops against the colors, don't you?  Love the diagonal look, and can't wait to use it again!

Image is digi from Bugaboo Stamps. Sentiment and Butterflies are from GKD. Image colored with Copics.

Who can resist a CAS card?
This card uses the 'Crochet Lace' Die as a 'ruffle' under the sentiment.
Flower is from Amuse Studio, Button Candies from Stampin'Up, sentiment unknown.

Last, but not least, the 'Crochet Lace' die was used here on the side.
I've offset the image, to give the die a bit more of a showcase.
Image is from Amuse Studio. Inks are Tim Holtz Distress and Versafine Black.

'Crochet Lace' is one of my favorite dies from Die-Versions.  It cuts so beautifully, the cardstock nearly falls out of the die, and it is such a pretty embellishment on a card.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you'll pop over to the Die-Versions store, and check out all of their amazing dies.  We'd love for you to follow our blog, as well. There is daily inspiration right here for all!

Have a great day,
Patti J.

Miss You

Happy Friday, everyone!! I hope you are having a great week!!  Lisa here to share a project with you today using the new Miss You Sweet Phrases die from the March release, which is also a fundraising project for Operation Write Home.

I really enjoyed making the sunburst cards for the joint Die-Versions / Operation Write Home Blog hop, but I used patterned paper for those. In trying to come up with ways to make more cards for OWH while following their guidelines and not adding too many bulky layers (and I do love layers!!), I thought the sunburst pattern would work well with embossing...adding texture without bulk.

I used several different embossing folders for both cards.

For the Miss You Sweet Phrases tag, I embossed the paper first and then cut it with the die so the embossing is very subtle. I then used the die to just emboss the red paper so that it fit perfectly inside the tag.

You can check out all of the March dies HERE.
You can watch videos showcasing the dies on our YouTube Channel HERE.
And we would love to see your Die-Versions projects on our Facebook page HERE.

Also, you still time to hop along with our blog hop with Operation Write Home...but hurry - you have until midnight (PT) tomorrow, Saturday, March 15th to leave your comments for a chance to win!! The hop starts HERE.
