Sending You Sunshine

Hello crafty friends,

My card today featured the dazzling Polished Diamond die.

This is a simple card and the style that I default to offend.  I started w/a piece of blue glitter paper behind a piece of blue and gold pattern paper.  The star of the card are the five gold diamond die cuts.

If you are wondering how I managed to keep all the little bits of the die cut in their place, well it was easy.  I die cut the diamonds w/the cutting side facing up and the gold card stock facing down. When I opened my Big Shot cutting sandwich the die cut pieces were sitting nicely on top of the die, so I took a piece of a double sided adhesive sheet and covered the die cut w/it.  This allowed me to lift the die cut off the die and keep all the little bits in place. Next I trimmed around the shape and backed each diamond w/dimensional tape.

Another way to use those
double sided adhesive sheet is to back your die cutting material w/the adhesive sheet before die cutting. The result will be a die cut w/adhesive already on it, which is great for a die like this w/super thin walls.  Just be aware that by adding the adhesive sheet to the back of your die cutting material, it becomes thicker and may need a shim added to the cutting sandwich in order to get a clean die cut.

Until next time
