Make your own wrapping paper with DV dies

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here again with my new project made with our delicious Die Versions June Girly release.
This time I decided to move to something different and made my own wrapping paper piece to wrap a small gift for any girly girl (like from 11  to 120).

I used a piece of thin cream paper, made a lot of inked circles with self made with old punches mask and then stamped some backgrounds over a few of those circles with Ann Butler's Unity Faux Quilting stamps.
Then I die cut a bunch of accessories with Wee Petites Diva Accessories die  from black cardstock and glued them totally randomly over the paper.  After I tied the ribbon I made a circle tag with Dive Purse die (cut twice in yellow and black for the depth and  the shading).

And here are the dies I used to make this homemade gift wrapping

See you in a couple of weeks with a totally different Mixed Media inspiration.

Beautiful June release for beautiful girls

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here with my two first  cards made with our Die-Versions most gorgeous Girly June release.
I must say  as beautiful as this release is, it's kind of a hard  one for my style. I am not so much girly in my designs and the dies I got were so much teen girl ( this forgotten age in Shalom family). But yet, I really love DV dies and with a little or a lot of " brain storming" I found those Couture papers from Graphic 45 that I have for ages and never used  for the same " hard to use" collection and  both dies and papers were a great fit for those girly girl cards I made for you to showcase a couple of dies from this release.
So here is a first one, made with Whispers Diva Purse and Whispers Dressing table.

I also added some fantastic " old " dies to my card:  Sweet frames  Pretty frame and Lacy dots , that was cut 3 times.
I think that the overall theme of Girly girl is covered and I just added this Congratulations sticker and some pearls to my card.

My second card for today was made with  the very same Dressing table die that was die cut twice for the shaded look and this new Wee petites Diva Accessories that were die cut  with black cardstock. Then I added some glitter glues, black enamel paint and red pearl paint to make those wee cuties more realistic. I also added this Torn Notebook Edge  Spiral die cut from one of the previous releases to frame my focal image.

Hope you got some girly inspiration and see you again in a couple of days with another new release project.

You Are Beautiful!!

Happy Friday, everyone!! Lisa here to share a project with you using my most favorite die from the new June "Life as a Diva" release.

For the base of the card, I created a mixed media background of distress inks in various colors (Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean and Squeezed Lemonade), stencil paste and stamps. The sentiment is from Craftin Desert Divas' Be Inspired stamp set. The arrow is a Wee Petites This Way Die. The crinkle ribbon was died with the same Distress Inks. The button in the center of the ribbon is a Wee Petites Button Die.

I just love this Whispers Hairdo Die!! I cut it twice in black cardstock: one I coated with sugar coating and the other I offset for a shadow effect.

You can check out all of the dies from the latest release HERE. And we would love to see your projects featuring Die-Versions dies on our Facebook page HERE.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Please come back next week for more inspiration from the design team!!

Anne here showcasing the new Sweet Petite Princess die, part of the "Life as a Diva" release.

I cut her as a silhouette and created a scene where she's looking out a window.  The curtains are rubber stamps from 100 Proof Press (Left Curtain Parting; Right Curtain Parting) which were stamped with Distress Ink (Fired Brick), heat embossed with Clear embossing powder, and colored with Copic markers.  The floor is a rubber stamp by Beeswax Stamps (Fancy Floor), which was stamped with Distress Ink (Gathered Twig).

The background was created using a Cuttlebug embossing folder (Rosa by Anna Griffin) and white pigment ink, which was lightly rubbed over the embossed areas.  The flowers have been in my stash for ages.

Fairytales do come true

Hello crafty friends,

I must have been channeling someone else while making this card, because 1)  it's a white card and I don't do white cards... I wouldn't call myself a messy crafter, but I have a problem keeping whites, white.   2)  yellow is the main color and I'm not a fan of yellow.

So how did card, which I'm inexplicably in love w/come together?  Well, I started by stamping my bride directly onto my card base.  I gave her dress a pale blue color wash and her hair and flowers a yellow color wash.  I also stamped the "once in a while" sentiment directly on my card base.

Next I die cut the Diva Crown - Whisper die from gold card stock and arranged it on the card base so that is framed the sentiment.  I added some pearls, small white flower and three bigger white flowers that I first color washed w/yellow distressed ink (same ink I used on the stamped hair and flowers).  My final step was adding Stickles to all the yellow color washed items.

After having played with the Diva Crown - Whisper die I'm happily surprised at how versatile this die is.  I have used it as a border die on a previously posted tag project. As a focal point crown die on this card and I have plans to use it as a set of parentheses on a future layout.  I love dies that I can use in more than one way, because I get more product for my money :)

Until next time...

Sparkle & Shine

Hello craft friends,

Today I have a tag that's full of sparkle & shine.   I incorporated the following three newly released dies into my tag:

The Whispers - Diva Crown die, which I cut three times out of silver card stock and used on the right side of my tag. I also used a small piece of the crown die in my girl's hair.  I started with the middle die cut and them trimmed the top and bottom die cuts to fit the remaining area.  I was careful to mirror the two end pieces. I included close up photos of this step down below.

The Whispers - Polished Diamond die, which I cut three times out of silver card stock.  I used double sided tape (after die cutting) to keep all the little pieces together.

The Sweet Spots - Girly Girl die, which I cut out of red glittery card stock and placed over the diamond die cuts.

Here's another photo of the tag... this time against a red couch.

this photo shows how I used the crown die to make my border.
And here is how I cut the crown die

Ooh La La

Anne here and today I'm showcasing two of the new "life as a Diva" dies - the Ooh La La Express Edge die and Nice Heels Whispers die.

When I think of girly girl projects, I think of lots of glitter.  So what better way to showcase the nice heels than to use the double glitter technique?  I started off by die cutting the image from some adhesive paper.

Die cut the image from adhesive paper and die cut the background (the circle in this case) from another piece of adhesive paper.  Take off the release paper from the background and from the shoe.  Attach the shoe's release paper to the exposed adhesive in center of the circle - since it's release paper, it won't stick when you pull it off.  Add Goldenrod Velvet Glitter to the entire surface, burnishing it in with your fingertip.  Now, if you wanted the image to be all one color, you'd just remove the release paper and cover with your next color of glitter.  I wanted the flowers to be white instead of red, so I carefully cut the release paper between the flowers and the rest of the die with an exacto knife.  Make sure you don't cut all the way through.  The flowers are covered with Cloud Nine Velvet Glitter and the rest is covered with Gypsy Red Velvet Glitter.

The Ooh La La Express Edge was done pretty much the same way.  I added double sided adhesive paper to cardstock and die cut the sentiment.  Using an exacto knife, I cut the release paper across the center of the letters and added Goldenrod Velvet Glitter to the top portion of the letters and Gypsy Red to the bottom half.

Pretty Hat

Hello Die-Versions Fans!!
Lori here today and I am happy to tell you that the new June Die-Versions Release ~ Life As A Diva!! is now available!!

Just think of all those darling girly girl scrapbook pages you can make with these awesome dies!!

Here is a card that I would like to share with you that I made with the new "Pretty Hat" Whispers from this release:

For this A2 card I started with aqua cardstock for the base of the card.  I then placed a 4 inch by 5 1/4 inch piece of aqua stripe paper on top of that.  I then cut the "Pretty Hat" Whispers 3 times, once in cream, patterned pink and pink paper, and then pieced it all together.  I added some pearl bling to the hat and some aqua pearl bling to the swirl on the paper.  Next I used an Inspired by Stamping Lovely Birthday Stamp and black ink and stamped the sentiment on cream paper.  I used a Creative Memories corner punch for the edges.  I also used some brown chalk on the base of the hat stand and on the edges of the stamped sentiment.

Be sure to stop by the DV Blog daily to see more wonderful creations made with the new Die-Versions dies!  Don't forget to share your beautiful projects with us on our DV Facebook page.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope I have inspired you to create something beautiful today!

Because today is Father's Day...

Here are two cards I posted back in March

For this card I used four pieces of coordinating pattern paper and some brown card stock for my tag.  I took my favorite dad die, the Sweet Spots #1 Dad and die cut it out of brown polka dot pattern paper.  I used nesting circle dies to create the rest of my layer circle element.   Next I die cut two of the Sweet Phrases Just For You using the same brown polka dot pattern paper.  I layer small pieces of the same yellow line pattern paper behind the Sweet Phrases Just For You die cuts and I positioned the two Sweet Phrases Just For You die cuts next to each other over the tag on dimensional squares.

For my second card, I used the same background pattern paper, but this time I paired it with a wood grain pattern paper.   I just can't seem to stop using wood grain pattern paper lately :)

The wood grain  pattern paper gave me the idea to make my die cuts look like inlay work.  This technique takes a little more planning, but it's not hard at all.   I started by getting my card base ready.  Next I determined what size my wood grain element would be... I knew I wanted to mat it, so I took that into consideration.   I cut my dark brown mat and wood grain  pattern papers to size.

When I was ready to die cut,  I placed the wood grain pattern paper on my cutting mat and positioned the dies where I wanted them... remembering to keep the pattern side facing the dies.  Now I had wood grain positive and negative die cuts of the Sweet Spots #1 Dad die and the Whispers Medal die.

Next I took dark brown pattern paper and die cut another set of the Sweet Spots #1 Dad die and the Whispers Medal die.  Die placement for these cuts wasn't important, but to save paper I used the center of the paper piece I was using to mat the wood grain pattern paper.

Once I had my two sets of die cuts.  I inlaid the die cuts pieces.  Come closer... just between you and me, while working on the inlay I broke the #1 dad circle, but I "fixed" it by gluing a tiny twine bow :)

Well, those are my cards for today.  I hope I have inspired you to make a few cards of your own and maybe even share them with us on our Die-Versions Facebook page.

Until next time...

One Last Wedding Card

from me with dies from the May release, crafty friends.

I took my color inspiration of orange and teal from the card stock.   I die cut the Sweet Wordlets - Bride & Groom  out of red glitter paper and glued it to a very old Basic Grey label I had laying around.

Next, I die cut the Whispers - Swirling Doves W Rings three times out of the different color glitter paper and two more times out of black card stock.

I glued the back die cuts together and pieced the different colored glitter sections into place.

I love how colorful this card turned out.  It makes me happy just looking at it.   Here's are some close up photos:

Until next time...
